FAQ-Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical basement renovation or garage conversion take?

Most jobs are completed in four weeks.

How much of a mess will I have to deal with?

We do a "workmans clean up"(broom clean) at the end of each day.  We use drop clothes and do everything in our power to insulate your home from any type of mess.  We treat your home as if it were our own.  Most of us have lived through our own renovations and can apreciate  the anxiety.

Do I have to call in my own electrician and plumber?

No, Ameri-tech is a full service company.  We are able to coordinate all the trades and bring the job to a smooth conclusion.  We only use licensed and insured sub contractors.

How much does it cost to do a finished basement or garage conversion?

The price varies depending on the level of finish required. It also depends on many other factors including demolition, plumbing if a bathroom or kitchen are involved, the extent of the lighting and electrical work. One thing is for certain, the value is unsurpassed.  Dormers and extenstions are up to 5 times more expensive. The best thing to do is call for a FREE ESTIMATE.  We can go over or ideas, needs and expectations.  If you are working within a budget we are able to tell you what goals can be accomplished now and how to set things up later as budgets allow.  Call today and have us stop by for an estimate.  No obligation.

Are you able to handle other work in my home while you are on my job?

Certainly.  The "while you are here list"  seems to come with most of our jobs.  Our specialty is finished basements/ garage conversions, however we routinely install windows, build decks, roofing, kitchen, baths.  You name it we'll take care of it.

Do I need a permit?

Any time you change or alter you home in any way, you should have a permit.  Having said that, most people elect not to obtain permits for finished basements and garage conversion.  We perform all work as if it were going to be inspected, now or in the future.
